A Perfect Weekend in Kitsap County: Local Coffee Shops, Farmers Markets & More (Inspired by My Family's Saturday Routine)
There’s something about weekends in Kitsap County that feel extra special—maybe it’s the ferry breeze in the air or the way time slows down between sips of good coffee and the hum of a bustling farmers market. As a local real estate agent (and mom of three!), our family’s weekend rhythm has become a blend of slow mornings, small-town charm, and supporting local spots we love. If you’re new to Kitsap or just planning a visit, here’s how I’d map out a weekend to soak it all in.
☕ Morning: Coffee & Conversation
Start your Saturday with a cup from one of my favorite Kitsap coffee shops:
-
Johnny’s Coffee (Silverdale): A cozy vibe, friendly faces, and strong coffee.
-
Poulsbohemian (Poulsbo): This waterfront gem has views that pair perfectly with their lattes.
-
Borrowed Kitchen Bakery (Kingston): Grab a coffee and one of their famous pastries before heading to the farmers market.
🥕 Mid-Morning: Local Farmers Markets
Kitsap is home to some of the most vibrant farmers markets in Western Washington. Whether you're grabbing local produce, fresh flowers, or just soaking up the vibe, here are the markets I recommend—along with when to visit:
-
Poulsbo Farmers Market (Saturdays, 10 AM – 2 PM)
Location: 18901 8th Ave NE, Poulsbo, WA 98370 Local produce, flower stands, and fresh baked goods. We never leave without a loaf of Poulsbo Bread. -
Kingston Farmers Market (Sundays, 10 AM – 3 PM)
Location: Mike Wallace Park, 25864 Washington Blvd NE, Kingston, WA 98346 Live music, artisan vendors, and an easygoing small-town vibe. -
Silverdale Farmers Market (Tuesdays, 10 AM – 2 PM)
Location: 3337 NW Byron St, Silverdale, WA 98383 Great if you’re staying for a long weekend and want something midweek.
🍽 Lunch with a Local Twist
After shopping, stop for lunch at a local spot—our go-to’s are:
-
The Green Light Diner (Poulsbo): Retro diner vibes with hearty comfort food—and the best old-fashioned milkshakes my kids absolutely love.
-
Sprouts Farmers Market (Silverdale): Grab one of their $5 made-to-order sandwiches—they’re fresh, filling, and surprisingly budget-friendly. It’s one of my favorite quick lunch spots when I’m out showing homes or shopping the farmers market.
-
Westside Pizza (Kingston): Kid-friendly and always a hit after a busy morning.
🌲 Afternoon Adventures
The second half of the day is perfect for exploring:
-
Fish Park or Clear Creek Trail: Both great for a family walk and spotting wildlife.
-
Liberty Bay Waterfront: Stroll the boardwalk, watch the boats, and maybe even kayak.
-
Island Lake or Wildcat Lake: Bring a picnic and let the kids (or dogs!) run.
✨ Evening Wind-Down
We usually end our weekend with a backyard firepit or walk around the neighborhood—nothing fancy, just togetherness. That’s what living in Kitsap is all about.
If this kind of lifestyle speaks to you and you’re thinking about making Kitsap County home, I’d love to show you around. I help buyers find homes that match the pace and priorities of their life.
